We start with the very best raw material we can source. 95% of the trusses and beams we produce are graded as #1 & better Free Of Heart Center (FOHC) Douglas Fir (South), logged from coastal areas of the Pacific Northwest. This species is 40% stronger than Western Red Cedar and with these specifications will be the most stable, beautiful, and cost effective choice for your timber frame project. There are many factors that play into the cost of timber trusses, such as timber component sizes, the style of the design, the span and roof pitch, and whether or not the trusses are structural or decorative. For a basic design using 6x8 timbers with a 22’ span and a 6:12 pitch, the cost per truss will run in the neighborhood of $6,800.00 per truss. This price includes consultation, shop drawings, mortise & tenon or steel gusset plate connections, engineering (if needed and for reciprocal states), assembly, and delivery prep.
A good timber truss producer will have invested in quality equipment. We currently operate three CNC timber processors with capacities up to 48" wide and 50' long. They should be willing to give you several very recent references, and above all they should take the time to guide you to the product choice that’s the best fit for your project and your budget. Every product shipped from our plant is given the care and attention to detail as though it was going into our own home. The timbers and trusses we manufacture and sell aren’t cheap, and they don’t usually go into projects with very tight budget constraints - delays due to poor product quality & repair result in very real dollar losses. This is why we strive to make sure that the only time we hear from customers is when they call to tell us how pleased they are with our products.
